Hasbrouck Heights is a compact Bergen County borough with a classic neighborhood business district along The Boulevard, a major Route 17 commercial and hotel corridor, established residential streets, four public schools and unusually convenient access to the Meadowlands, Teterboro Airport, Hackensack and New York City.
The borough combines a walkable local center with regional transportation and hospitality activity, giving it a broader economic and visitor role than its 1.52-square-mile footprint might suggest.

From Lodi Township to Hasbrouck Heights
Residents approved incorporation by referendum on July 31, 1894, during Bergen County's well-known “Boroughitis” era. The new borough was created from portions of Lodi Township.
The municipal name was formally certified as “The Borough of Hasbrouck Heights” in February 1895.
Rail, roadway access and proximity to New York helped transform the area into a developed residential suburb with its own schools and local business center.
The borough sits between Hackensack, the Meadowlands and Teterboro, with Route 17 and NJ Transit buses linking it to major employment and visitor destinations.

Hasbrouck Heights Public Schools
The district operates four public schools: Euclid Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Hasbrouck Heights Middle School and Hasbrouck Heights High School. The Middle and High Schools share the 365 Boulevard campus, while the district offices are at 379 Boulevard.
